Another very interesting “beta”. Not quite a release candidate, not quite a beta. Definitely improving, though. Should be a very interesting release! So far, I like how polished Unity is starting to feel, though I have noticed some sluggishness from time to time, and I believe Unity locked up on me at least once in the short time I’ve used it. Click “Read More” to view the video with my full first look and initial impressions.

After using this for a day or two at work, watching some of the upgrades that have happened, and showing it to coworkers, I have to say, I’m very pleased so far! Gnome 3 / Gnome Shell is really shaping up to be very useful, and the performance has significantly improved from the last time
