[..YouTube..] I’ve never found the redhat based distro’s lightweight. I’ve used lots of distributions in the past, including Debian and Slackware, and they looked a lot faster, but then again, they’re a bit tougher to use (especially 6-7 years ago). When I compare Fedora now comparing with my Mandrake 8.2 years ago, we’ve come a LONG way. Nowadays everyone should be able to use linux (Fedora or Ubuntu e.g.) without any problems. Except maybe gamers who need a Win box for their games…

[..YouTube..] @thisweekinlinux I don’t think it’s sad. If you look at their release policies, you should just be happy that they postponed the release. I prefer to have the release a week or two later than having one where you will need to use workarounds to make certain things work

[..YouTube..] @mguilmot Yeah, kinda sad they had to push back again, but it’s probably for the best.
I know I used the DVD when I installed my laptop with Fedora, and it was not a problem at all.
“Light weight” is sort of a relative term. Gnome is lightweight compared to KDE, but it’s bloated compared to Xfce, Fluxbox, etc.

[..YouTube..] The final release is scheduled later this month (the 25th if all goes well).
Have to say, if you want the least problems with the install, use the full CD’s or DVD’s. I installed 12 first with a live CD and had a few troubles getting all to work. With the DVD all went perfect just with the install. Have no idea what is different, but there is a difference. Still love Fedora ever since the very first release years ago.
But you cannot call it light weight though
